This time it revolves around the story of Mizuki Hayama, Kei's friend, and the background of the mysterious girl Yuuko is revealed. The main male protagonists are Shuichi Kuze, Renji's friend from the first season, and Yu Himura, Chihiro's caretaker, also seen in the previous adaptation.
